Abstract
Nicolas Guillén’s poem book Motivos de Son has been studied in its relations with music; but there is not the same situation about the relations between the book and Cuban popular drama.
That’s the subject of this paper. Its writer stressed relations between the literary values of Motivos de Son and national identity in a very important period of Cuban history: the Revolution of the Thirties in XX Century, and the roll of the artistic avant-garde in that process.
Resumen
Motivos de son ha sido estudiado desde las relaciones entre la literatura y la música, no
así con y el teatro popular cubano, que es el tema de esta ponencia. En ella se abordan
sus valores literarios en relación con la construcción de la identidad nacional en un
momento clave de la historia cubana: la convulsa década de 1930, la Revolución del 30
y las vanguardias artísticas.
