Abstract
University education's mission is to provide a training process in such a way that students prepare to successfully join the changing world in which they live, rapid social transformations generate challenges for higher education institutions when transforming their educational models, curricula and study programs in order to adapt to these changes. This study aimed to analyze the scientific-research training process of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy students in the context of the University of El Salvador. For its development, the methods of documentary analysis, interview and logical history were used in order to verify how curricular adjustments were made in response to social transformations, in addition, it is studied in a way that establishes the link of the research with the other substantive functions, teaching and social projection.
Resumen
La educación universitaria tiene como misión brindar un proceso formativo de manera tal que los estudiantes se preparen para incorporarse con éxito al mundo cambiante en el que viven, las rápidas transformaciones sociales generan desafíos para las instituciones de educación superior al momento de transformar sus modelos educativos, currículos y programas de estudio a fin de adaptarse a estos cambios. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar el proceso de formación científico-investigativa de los estudiantes de Fisioterapia y Terapia Ocupacional en el contexto de la Universidad de El Salvador. Para su desarrollo se utilizaron los métodos de análisis documental, entrevista e histórico lógico a fin de constatar cómo se realizaron ajustes curriculares en respuesta a las transformaciones sociales, además, se estudia de manera que se establece la vinculación de la investigación con las otras funciones sustantivas, docencia y proyección social.
